Apollo Resort Art Hotel

Kyparissia is a quiet, lovely town and a handy base for exploring the Peloponnese. From the hotel, there’s a beautiful beach with a secluded feel, just a walk through the olive Grove. We’ve been able to visit places like Ancient Olympia, Messene, and lovely beaches without the crowds of more touristy spots. It should also work well as a base for going farther afield to Kefalonia and Athens. At Apollo Art Hotel, the pool and cozy shared spaces are comfortable, and the whole place is spotless and beautifully kept by a small, dedicated team. It also feels safe. We arrived late, but the owner still made us a delicious meal, which was a warm, thoughtful welcome. The team goes out of its way to make the stay memorable, and that personal service makes a real difference. The food has been consistently fantastic, with fresh local flavors and meals that feel home-cooked with care. We visited at the tail end of the season, so some things, including the rooftop restaurant, were closed. We knew that beforehand and it hasn’t taken away from our visit. The rooftop is still open for us to enjoy. We wish Apollo Art Hotel could stay a secret, but it deserves to be shared. A well-run boutique hotel with genuine hospitality and a gorgeous setting. Highly, highly recommended.

There’s a peaceful, inspiring feel throughout the hotel, with original paintings adding to its distinctive artistic style. The spacious pool area is comfortable and a lovely place to relax, day or night. We also enjoyed live music on the rooftop terrace twice a week, which added to the calm, elegant atmosphere. Breakfast was varied and delicious each morning, with a breathtaking outlook over Kyparissia, the mountains, and the castle. The lavender in the air made it feel even more special. We absolutely loved our stay and would recommend it to anyone after a charming, relaxing place in the Peloponnese.

The hotel was spotless, with daily room cleaning and fresh towels and toiletries whenever we needed them. There was plenty of parking, and the shared spaces were spacious, including the lobby, pool with soft loungers, and rooftop. We arrived early and our room was already ready. Breakfast was well catered, and dinner on the rooftop was excellent, with a great view and fusion dishes with a Greek touch. The risotto was the best I’ve ever had, and the wine pairing was thoughtfully chosen. The owner was accommodating and gave us tips about the area. We can’t wait to return!

You’ll need a car because there’s nothing within walking distance. On checkout day, we felt they were rushing us out well before the 11 a.m. deadline. We went to breakfast at 7:30 a.m., and the woman there pressured us to call the cleaners so our room could be cleaned by 8:30. We had to keep saying we’d leave when we were ready, by checkout time. I also think we were overcharged for the environmental tax, and they definitely wanted it paid in cash. It felt a bit dodgy.
