Anastasia's windmill

Such an amazing place to stay, with an incredible view from the smaller studio. We arrived just as the kittens had been born.

Sitting on the little terrace with a book and coffee, looking out over the sea, felt a bit magical. The house is right at the top of Plaka, with water all around and a great view at sunrise and sunset. The host is friendly and helpful. Lucas picked us up at the harbor when we arrived and brought water, wine, and coffee to the little house. Anastacia stops by each day to say hello and feed the cats. There are several of them, some shyer than others. You can use the small kitchen or walk down to one of the restaurants in town, about 10-15 minutes away. The supermarket takes 15-20 minutes on foot. Klima beach, with its old fishermen's houses, Venus of Milos, the Catacombs, and an ancient theater are all within walking distance. There are several spots in Plaka to watch the sunset, and you can see it from the house too. I think the price is more than fair.

The windmill looked even better in person than in the pictures. Anastasia decorated it beautifully in a traditional style, and the windows give you 360-degree views. There are large bedrooms with comfortable beds, a big kitchen, an outdoor grill, a good hot shower, and a spacious outdoor area with two dining tables and a separate place to sit and take in the view. The location up high in Tripiti is hard to beat, with amazing sunrises and sunsets. It’s close to local restaurants, Plaka, Sarankino beach, and other spots, but still quiet. We especially recommend Ergina. Anastasia and Loukas made us feel like family. They were generous with local advice, including tips about the hot springs, and live just next door if you need anything. They cleaned the windmill every day, which is unusual for a rental. They also offered rides to and from the port. There’s Princess and her five kittens around the property. You can play with them if you like, but they won’t come over on their own if you’re afraid of cats, and they stay out of the windmill. We spent hours searching for somewhere to stay in September 2020, and were stunned when we arrived. We already miss the hosts, and I’d book this place without hesitation.

Plaka is close by and gorgeous, and the accommodation is far enough from busy Adamas to feel peaceful while still being handy for dinner or drinks. Anastasia and Loukas were the sweetest hosts, so helpful and generous. The views are beautiful too. You have to stay here. We’ll be back!
