After the way our booking was handled, I wouldn't return even if it were free. We'd booked direct through Eleni for the second time this year, in August. The year before, we booked two rooms and both my son and daughter got shocks from the door handle because the key holder stayed live. This time we booked three rooms, paid a deposit and got confirmation. We flew into Zante and went straight to the apartments to check in. Eleni came down looking confused, then after 20 minutes said, apologetically, that she'd double booked us and it was her fault. We spent six hours by the pool while she called around for somewhere else. She eventually found a villa two miles from the main resort, which was exactly why we'd originally picked this location. The villa was lovely, but we'd need taxis four times a day to get to the beach and return for meals. Eleni first said she'd pay for taxis at 10€ each way. When the taxi came to take us to the villa, we had to pay the fare ourselves. She paid 2k€ toward the villa but only took 140€ off our bill for taxis. Each ride actually cost 20-25€, four times a day, and she refused to pay for car hire. She didn't even offer us a drink while we waited. We had to order food and drinks by the pool, and when I asked her to cover half, she did so reluctantly. The whole thing ruined our holiday, and we ended up hiring a car at our own expense to save money for the remaining eight days. It was booked through a very good friend, Dimitri, at a huge saving of £710€. We've gone to Zante for years, but this has put me off returning. Book cautiously, and only through a site, not direct.
