Filoxenia Beach Apartments

The location was the best part, but overall Filoxenia Beach Apartments were a huge disappointment. We’ve holidayed in Greece for 30 years and know what to expect. This place was too expensive for the standard and service we got, and there are far better places with much better management. We booked an apartment for three people a year ahead and requested a high-floor room with a nice view. Instead, we were given a low-floor room looking at garden umbrellas and a public walkway. We asked to move to a better room and were refused. Ground- and first-floor rooms don’t have good views, while the website uses photos of rooms on the second and third floors. We couldn’t open the windows because they faced the public walkway, and the balcony dividers were so low that it felt like we were sitting and talking with the people next door, with very little privacy. We’d also paid for breakfast on the terrace overlooking the sea, but on arrival were told the policy had changed. Instead, we were offered a QR code for a breakfast basket delivered to the room, with no drinks included. We had to wash up ourselves. We asked to eat breakfast at the bar restaurant, but were told no. We asked if tea, coffee or juice could be included, and were told to use the espresso machine in the room. When we pointed out that we’d paid for terrace breakfast with drinks, we asked if we could skip it and get a discount to buy breakfast elsewhere. Again, no. Management seemed not to care whether we enjoyed our stay. The rooms were tired and not particularly well cleaned, with some mold in the corners. Next door was full of junk and rubbish from the taverna.

The hotel is beautiful, and our stay was amazing. The rooms are modern, with very nice rooms, comfy beds and a really good bathroom. The bar has a special feel to it, and the staff are super friendly and seemed to know what we wanted. Nikolas made us feel welcome, and we found a new friend!

The beach bar was one of the best parts. It serves breakfast, lunch, snacks and alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks through the day. Breakfast is included and served there, and it left nothing to be desired. The bay view from our room was 10/10, and every room has its own balcony or terrace facing the sea. You can step straight onto the beach and go snorkelling. The location is great too, with a short walk to the center for more bars and restaurants. Our room was large, clean and fully equipped, and everything else felt perfect. The whole staff were friendly and helpful, giving the place a family atmosphere. Whenever we had a question or an issue, they were happy to arrange things for us.

The balcony had a breathtaking view of the sea, and breakfast was served from 9-12. We also found the area pleasant and well suited to families. The rooms are spacious, housekeeping came daily, and the staff were friendly and helpful. A fantastic stay at Filoxenia beach apartments, I can't recommend it enough.
