Selyria Resort - All Inclusive

The staff were really kind, and our cleaner was superb. The rooms are spacious, and the location is handy, with shops, a supermarket and an ATM about a five-minute walk away. Food options are limited and it’s lukewarm at best, though there’s enough that you won’t go hungry and the quality is actually decent. The pool water and the rest of it are clean, but the edge definitely needs a thorough extra clean. I’ll be blunt: this doesn’t deserve five stars, three at most. What you pay varies a lot, and above 500-600 per person per week I think you’re likely to be disappointed. If you rent a quad to see the island, get a 600cc. We loved ours, and it was funny seeing the 400cc ones struggle up the hills.

The location is a real plus, close to the beach and the center of Tsilivi, with plenty of good restaurants and cocktail bars nearby. For the price, it’s okay. The food is alright, though the restaurant is small and the choice is limited. The pool rim needs a clean, and I’d call this more of a three-star place than a five-star resort.

I’m still staying here, and honestly, I don’t get the complaints. The rooms are clean, the staff are friendly, and the food is fresh and delicious. People saying the hotel is so bad just aren’t right, in my view. I think it’s really good.

For what we paid, about €500 each including flights, it was okay, but I wouldn’t pay much more. The beach is around an eight-minute walk from the hotel, where the complete all-inclusive option is also available. There the food was warm and fresh, though the beds were less comfortable and cushions were provided for only about 5% of them. At the hotel, drink choices were plentiful and the pool loungers were very comfortable. The rooms are pretty and very clean, but although they give themselves five stars, I’d say it’s closer to three. The food in the au bain maries was basically cold because they weren’t warm. Staff looked a bit ungroomed, didn’t seem properly trained and wore no work clothes, leggings and a T-shirt doesn’t feel five-star. There were all Dutch guests when we stayed. We shared a maisonette with four people. There was no bathroom door, so there wasn’t much privacy, which could be awkward with friends or a family with mixed ages. It’s a nice hotel, but I wouldn’t return.
