Emily and her family made us feel right at home, and we had a great stay. We were sorry to leave. The grounds are lovely, with a pool, BBQ area, and all the comforts of home. Our beds were comfortable, and the air conditioning was much appreciated. There are a couple of tavernas nearby, and the beach within walking distance is lovely, though the sunbeds there are VERY expensive. To see more of the surrounding area and beaches, and to go further afield, you really need a car.

The owners live next door and were welcoming but gave us our space. They shared tips about the island, and when we asked where to buy good olive oil from a local producer, they brought some to our door. The house had everything we needed, with proper cleaning every other day, and we felt well looked after and able to relax. We spent two weeks there and drove all over the island. For me, Vasilikas - Gerakas is the best part. It’s green, with olive and pine trees, and not especially crowded since there are no big hotels around. The house suits a family of four, with a large garden, a pool, outdoor spaces, and several beautiful beaches and tavernas close by.

Denise, the owner, and her daughter Emily were so attentive, and the house felt like an expression of their character. It’s spacious, nicely decorated, and worked really well for our family of four. A lovely beach is only 150 meters away. We were glad to have the pool and garden to cool off in during the intense heat. A wonderful stay.

The famous Gerakas beach is just a very short distance away, where the Caretta-caretta lays its eggs. We stayed in a traditional stone house with a swimming pool, and the hosts were so hospitable. It really felt like paradise.
