Drops Cave Houses

There’s no car park, and parking on the street is quite tight. The room had just one small window, in the main door, so it didn’t feel completely secure.

Vothonas was a lovely, quiet traditional village, and the villa worked well for us, with a supermarket and other shops and restaurants about a 10-minute walk away. Theoni was a huge part of what made the week so good. She arranged airport and local taxi rides, explained the island and the villa when we arrived, and checked in on us every day. We felt very welcome and looked after. We stayed in the Delight villa. The bedroom and living space were roomy, clean, and nicely decorated, and the bed was comfortable. It was so quiet that we slept perfectly and felt safe. The bathroom was clean, with towels, robes, and toiletries provided. The kitchen had a large fridge, oven, microwave, toastie maker, dishes, and cutlery, so we made dinner most nights. Breakfast came at the time we chose, and included homemade juice, ham and cheese toasties, Greek yoghurt, jam, cereal, oats, honey, fresh bread, fruit, and cake or biscuits. It was delicious, a five-star breakfast. We could choose how often we wanted cleaning, and they left free bottled water each day since the tap water isn’t drinkable. Outside, there was a large private space with a pool, loungers, and a dining area that got sun from early morning until evening. We also had a beautiful view of the village and the sea in the distance. It was my partner’s and my first visit to Santorini, and we’d happily come back. I’d recommend Drops Caves Houses to friends, family, or anyone visiting. It made our island stay feel more special.

Our flight home was cancelled, so we needed a place at short notice. Drops had availability, and Theone came to our rescue. The villa was beautiful, with a lovely private pool, and the staff and hospitality deserved more than five stars. We were sorry our flight was only delayed by a day, since we would have loved to stay longer. Definitely worth visiting, and highly recommended.

Everything was clean and just right. Theoni arranged our airport taxi and was there when my sister and I arrived for our first visit to Santorini, ready to explain the island and the villa. She was incredibly kind and helpful, made us feel welcome, arranged taxis wherever we wanted to go, and checked on us each day. Big thanks to Theoni.
