Kalamitsi

Panagiotis gave us a wonderful welcome and shared so much useful information. The whole team was lovely, from the people making delicious fresh breakfasts to the cleaning staff. My wife and I stayed in the main hotel, in a room with a charming balcony looking over olive trees to the blue sea. We loved the literary connections, and visiting the Leigh Fermor House was fabulous. Book online ahead of time, as its opening hours are limited. The idyllic setting and the hotel were perfect for us. We would happily have stayed longer and would love to return every year. Efcharisto poli!

Freshly made breakfast was the highlight for us, especially the jams, baked cakes, and the best scrambled eggs I’ve ever had. We had a lovely stay at Kalamitsi hotel in early May 2025. It was peaceful and quiet, with beautiful gardens and a private beach. A five minute walk through the gardens takes you to the lovely natural beach, Paralia kalamitsiou. Kardamyli centre is about ten minutes on foot, though the route follows a poorly lit main road without a designated path, so take care. The staff were lovely and flexible about checkout. We’d love to return one day.

We paid 130 euros per day for the room, but I found it for 103 euros on a rental platform, so booking through a platform may be the better deal. The staff were very kind, and the hotel is in a beautiful spot with quite nice surroundings, though they were a bit unkempt. We had no water from 4 in the morning until 8, but that was probably a random event.

We had a great time in the family studio with our child. The garden and room were amazing, our host was friendly and relaxed, and breakfast was delicious. We definitely recommend it.
