Cacao Boutique Hotel

I loved my three nights here and would highly recommend it. The hotel is exceptionally clean, with quiet, calming decor and little thoughtful details that make the rooms feel special. It has an understated sense of luxury. Breakfast is included and served on the terrace, with a lovely view of the volcanoes on the horizon. I arrived in Antigua after being sick the day before, and the team did everything they could to make me comfortable before check-in. I stayed sick for a few days, had an unexpected room change, and extended my booking, and they were kind and helpful through it all. I stayed in both the Queen double and Queen twin rooms. Each had a bathtub, and the double room’s large stone bath was especially blissful. The hotel isn’t right in the centre, which suited me. That area felt congested with traffic and pollution, while this hotel is off a road with no through traffic. The entrance to the road has a security booth, and the area felt quiet and safe.

Breakfast was tasty, and we enjoyed the courtyard and volcano views while eating. The location worked well too, close enough to the city centre but far enough from Antigua’s noise and bustle. My partner and I had a perfect stay at Cacao Boutique Hotel. Our room was beautiful, the AC worked well, and the bed was comfortable. The staff were always ready to answer questions and help.

We stayed in The Garden Room and had a great time. The staff were so kind and accommodating, breakfast was delicious, and the bed was really comfortable.

Breakfast was lovely, but there wasn’t a 6:00 AM option for people heading out to hike a volcano. After the hike, there was no late checkout or shower option either. We liked the garden, though traffic from the highway was unfortunately audible on the rooftop. The room was clean, quiet, and spacious. There’s no AC, but airing it out in the evening let the hot air escape and kept the temperature comfortable. The mattress was quite hard, so the bed wasn’t very comfortable. It’s about a 10-minute walk to the main attractions, and the city felt very safe.
