Hotel La Galeria

The hotel is on a street with lots of buses, but the rooms are at the back, so you don't hear them. It's a great place, and being outside the center could be an advantage. There are many restaurants, a laundry, and a gym within a five-minute walk. A new shop one minute away has everything you need at good prices, though it doesn't sell food.

Everything in town is just a short walk away, and the staff are helpful, accommodating, and bilingual. This is a lovely small boutique hotel with wonderfully hot showers and a delicious breakfast included.

I loved Hotel La Galeria and would definitely stay again. All the major sites in Antigua are about a 5-20 minute walk away, and the hotel feels very safe: the entrance stays locked and you buzz for the receptionist to let you in. The staff were kind and attentive, and someone helpful was always at the front desk. The courtyard is beautiful, with lots of plants and a few tables. My room had a courtyard-facing window, was very clean, and came with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and a water carafe that was refilled daily. Purified water was always available downstairs. The bed was nice and firm, and a large fan helped keep the room cool. Breakfast came out quickly and was great. The women serving it were kind and attentive, and everyone working there was friendly and welcoming.

It's easy to walk everywhere from here, with plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby. The rooms were quiet, the staff friendly, and breakfast was good. They even offered airport taxi service at night for $25 each. I recommend it 10/10.
