Las Lagunas Boutique Hotel

The food was a lovely surprise in such a remote spot. The breaded shrimp was especially good, and there were lots of refreshing cocktails to choose from. We also enjoyed the complimentary morning Monkey Island tour. With just a handful of rooms, Las Lagunas Boutique Hotel feels quiet and intimate, almost like having a private retreat. Our room was beautiful and comfortable, and the whole place was in excellent shape, with a calm atmosphere that made it easy to unwind. The staff learned our names and greeted us warmly throughout the day, which made the service feel personal. We loved our stay and would happily return.

Alex, our dinner waiter, made a huge impression. He remembered my name before we'd even been introduced, and his attention, respect, and dedication made us feel right at home. He deserves a promotion and employee of the year, in my opinion. Elmer, who served breakfast, was wonderful too and made me look forward to it each morning. My four friends and I felt like princesses thanks to them and the whole team. Las Lagunas is beautiful and felt very safe, with a luxurious feel throughout. I'm especially grateful to Alex for such thoughtful hospitality. Thank you, Alex!

After hiking Volcano Acatenango, we spent a couple of days here and found it just right for resting and recharging. The staff are warm and take the time to get to know you. The hotel sits among nature, and there's room for plenty of fun activities around the property, though I'll leave the surprises for you to discover. Room service was amazing. For about what a typical US hotel night costs, this felt like a 5-star stay, and well worth it for a weekend escape. Make time for nearby Tikal too, it's a must-see.

The hotel's lagoon views are beautiful and calming, and the museum gives guests more insight into Mayan culture. What stood out most was the thoughtful, personal service at the main restaurant. Alex and Elmer deserve a special mention. We felt genuinely well looked after.
