InterContinental Real Guatemala by IHG

The breakfast buffet at The Market is superb, and I'd say it's worth paying a bit more to have breakfast included. The hotel has four restaurants and an elegant bar, all of the restaurants are very good and offer room service. It's also an easy drive from the airport, with excellent restaurants and fancy shopping malls within walking distance. A beautiful hotel in an excellent part of Guatemala City.

Guido, our BFF, was a true gem and a gentleman, and Leslie Irias was muy linda! The staff and management were kind and professional, and the hotel is pet friendly. We loved the phenomenal breakfast buffet, gorgeous pool, and warm Jacuzzi that worked perfectly. The hotel was very clean and beautiful. It was our first visit, and it exceeded what we expected. I'd highly recommend staying here in the Guatemala City hotel zone.

We arrived very late, so it was a real help that the kind, helpful staff had arranged an airport pickup for us. A very nice hotel.

For what we paid, this was about as bad as it gets. Maybe we just got unlucky, but this place felt like a mockery of the IHG Intercontinental brand, and I've stayed in many of them. The junior suite was mediocre at best, with a tiny bathroom and a ridiculous shower/tub. The advertised amenities and restaurants were mostly closed, unusable, or in poor condition. Four of the five advertised restaurants were closed, even on a weekend. The new sauna at the spa wasn't hot enough to break a sweat. The real gym was under construction, and the makeshift one was too small for even two people to use the weights.
