Euro Hostal - Hostel

The first thing they need to do is wash the bed sheets and clear away the toe nail clippings left by previous guests. The whole stay was truly unpleasant. The building looked run down and sketchy, and the atmosphere put me off. The rooms were horrible, with dirty sheets, disgusting pillows, and unclean furniture. They were really ugly, too. In the bathroom shower, cables were peeling right where the water splashes. I’d never recommend this hotel, especially for families with kids, because the place just doesn’t feel safe. I’m writing this honestly in hopes of helping other guests avoid a disappointing experience.

Ramon, the host, and Lily were especially attentive, patient, and helpful with all my questions and requests, always smiling. The hostel is worth staying at, and I’d come back the next time I’m in "The City." I’d only planned to stay for the weekend but added two more days. It’s close to the airport, and when I needed to be there at 4am for my departing flight, Ramon was awake and ready to take me right on time. If you’re staying more than one night, be aware there’s only one small restaurant within walking distance. The hostel also serves breakfast for a small charge. Five stars for the staff!

The dorm stayed so quiet even though there was a big party happening in a neighboring space. The stay was super comfy and cheap, and the complimentary shuttle to the airport was handy. I loved the eclectic decor, and the ladies in the "comedor" made me an amazing chicken meal when I arrived.

There’s not much to eat within walking distance, just a tienda, basically a convenience store. The hotel is cheap, near the airport, and includes a simple breakfast with eggs, beans, toast, coffee, or pancakes. The staff speaks very little English. I’d have given it five stars, but one male staff member yelled something at me in Spanish that I couldn’t understand, and was very rude.
