Coffee lovers should check this place out. The food was delicious, and I liked the coffee so much that I brought home a pound and wished I’d taken ten. The rooms are clean, really comfortable, and fun. It’s quiet and close to nature, surrounded by coffee trees, so it made for a peaceful vacation spot. Beautiful location.

My family and I were so happy with our stay. We got to try both the Domes and the Cave. The Dome has the view, while the Cave feels especially peaceful, and both are relaxing. The architecture is worth admiring, and everything was very clean. The setting is amazing, and the service feels one of a kind, with an unusual level of kindness. A Huehue thing 😁.

We planned one quiet night, then kept extending until we’d spent a whole week. The hosts were wonderful, bringing us a 19L jug of water, a patio propane heater, and firewood, and helping us get the bonfires going, all at no extra cost. They also included horseback riding on a well cared for, easygoing horse, which our son tried for the first time, also free. Our cabin was private, set on acres, while friendly people were just a text or five minute walk away. It felt safe and rural, with the comforts we’re used to. Everything was new, stylish, and carefully finished. It’s a PERMA-culture project, with many design materials coming from the property, and the quality was still ultra fine. The room was squeaky clean and well appointed, with a cozy bed that was big enough for two people used to a king. Our eight year old had a high quality, comfortable, fun bunk bed. Breakfast was spectacular, prepared by a chef the first day and talented staff on the next couple of days. Google Maps got us there easily, though locals mostly recommended Waze. It was our first time driving in Guatemala, after crossing the border in our car. I travel full time as a nomad and almost never leave reviews, but this was a truly exceptional experience.

The views around Hacienda del Cafe are gorgeous, and the lodging was comfortable, clean, and new. We got to enjoy homemade Guatemalan food, horseback rides, and a look at how coffee is made, along with plenty of peace and quiet. Most of all, we loved the wonderful Guatemaltecha people and the incredible hospitality. It was our introduction to Guatemala, but it felt like home. I highly recommend checking the place out.

The food was very nice, with local dishes. La Hacieda is close to Huehuetenango City, with additional attractions around the area. It’s a hidden paradise with forest, walking and truck trails, horseback riding, and rustic rooms for an amazing stay. The place is excellent, though I wouldn’t stay more than two days.
