Casa Caribe Hotel

We had such a good time here with the family. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the food and drinks were good. Mario and the whole staff were so kind and welcoming. Thanks for everything, Mario!

The boat trips are well worth taking. We went to Livingston, Playa Blanca, and Amatique Bay, and Casa Caribe also makes a handy base for getting around the river, Lake Izabal, and even the sea. It’s only a few minutes by boat from the docks. Castillo de San Felipe is right across the street, giving the setting a real sense of history. You can enjoy the view over breakfast or while unwinding in the jacuzzi. The staff made the stay especially memorable, with warm, attentive service. Rosmi, Ashley, and Mario were always kind and ready to help. I’d happily recommend staying here.

You can borrow kayaks for free and explore the lovely waterways nearby. The grounds are comfortable, with a fantastic view of the fort across from them. The staff are extremely friendly, and the food and drinks are delicious.

We had a fantastic stay, and Mario even picked us up by motorboat and brought us to the hotel. It sits surrounded by the spectacular Castillo de San Felipe. The cuisine was excellent. I only wish we’d had more time to come back.
