Hotel Pez De Oro

The pool was great, and the location couldn't be better. Highly recommend this place!

Falling asleep to the waves was lovely. My bungalow had a clean, comfortable room and bed, and the small outdoor pool was kept really spotless. The hotel is right on the beach, with separate bungalows for the rooms.

We stayed in 2012, arriving on a Sunday just as most people were heading out, so the quiet felt like we had the place to ourselves. The beach was lovely, though the waves felt too dangerous for a proper swim in the ocean. We only went in for a quick dip, then had fun swimming in the hotel's nice pool. Our room was near the shore, so we could hear the relaxing surf all the time, and the mosquito net over the bed came in handy. The food was good and reasonably priced.

I felt unsafe because there didn't seem to be anyone keeping an eye on the guests or rooms. It seemed like anyone could walk into my room. There was no manager or person in charge, either, so when other guests ignored the pool rules and made people uncomfortable, staff didn't step in. Yet they had plenty of rules for us. Food was expensive for a small hotel. When we first arrived, there was no clear reception or anyone to help with our reservation. I later learned the kitchen is the reception, but the people working there were rude and had no customer service. Since it was my first visit, I felt they treated me like it was my fault for not knowing how things worked.
