Grand Hotel Panajachel

The gardens are lush and lovely, and the location is central enough that everything is within walking distance. There’s good security, helpful service, and a large parking area where your car can be kept safe. They include a free Guatemalan breakfast too. A safe, cute option if you’re visiting pana, and I’d recommend it.

The pool area was nice, and the rooms were modest but pleasant. It’s on a main road, yet it stays quiet.

The included breakfast was barely enough for a baby. You’d be better off spending the money you save on a meal down the street. This place felt like booking a tent and being upgraded to a cot. If it were the only hotel left, I’d still choose a sleeping bag.

Breakfast was better than I expected, and they provide free water in the room. There’s also free parking behind a closed gate. It’s about what you’d expect from a three star hotel, though the street side rooms are noisy. I’d try to get one in the pleasant garden at the back.
