Hotel Boutique Casa Morasan

The hotel’s design has the feel of an old Spanish hacienda, with carefully kept inner courtyards, warm furnishings, and lots of vintage details. It’s a beautiful place with a lot of thoughtful touches. The room was spacious, with extras like a coffee machine, coffee, and tea. Water pressure in the bathroom and shower was relatively good for Guatemala, and the small toiletries were nicer than what’s usual in the area. The soft, comfortable beds made for a quiet and pleasant night. It’s also ideally placed, about a minute and a half on foot from the lively central square. There’s a market roughly across the street with several food stalls at night, plus plenty of restaurants and bars nearby at different price levels. Reception service was excellent. The women there were always kind, welcoming, pleasant, and ready to help. The breakfast was a letdown. The included meal was just three pancakes, some fruit, and coffee. I expected more from a hotel that also presents itself as a high-quality restaurant. It was among the most disappointing breakfasts we had at the different hotels. Guests can use the jacuzzi and sauna for free, but need to let the staff know ahead of time so they can switch them on.

The staff were lovely the whole time, and the room was well stocked with a comfortable bed, hot water, and plenty of bathroom amenities. We also enjoyed the hotel restaurant. The stay included a complimentary drink and free fresh water, and use of the jacuzzi was free for 30 minutes. The hotel is close to the park and restaurants, and we had a wonderful stay. I can’t recommend it enough.

Breakfast was included and delicious, and the staff were welcoming and courteous. We had four rooms, and the beds were amazing. I had an issue with the hot water, but they fixed it very promptly. The location is perfect and central, within walking distance of the main city attractions. They went out of their way to help make our stay wonderful. We’ll definitely come back. This is the place to stay in Xela!

The location is perfect, and breakfast was nice. The hot water takes a long time to warm up, and the reception staff weren’t the most helpful.
