Eco Hotel Uxlabil Atitlan

We only spent one night here, but the room was spacious and the views were stunning. Breakfast was delicious, and the price was very reasonable. Their dock is where you can catch the public lanchas, and San Juan is less than a 10-minute walk away.

Breakfast was a highlight, especially the hot oat porridge to start. I also took out one of their kayaks, and local boats stop here to pick you up. The hotel was peaceful and beautiful, with friendly staff. I was glad to have a hot shower here after staying at other hotels with only cold or lukewarm water, and there was even a dehumidifier in my room. For my budget, this was one of the best places I stayed in Guatemala and great value. I’d stay again.

I spent a long time searching for a bright room with a good view, so it was really disappointing to pay extra and end up in a cramped, noisy room. It wasn't the peaceful lakeside stay I had hoped for. We booked the more expensive option on booking because the photos showed a bright corner room with tall ceilings and several windows and doors. Instead, our room was small and dim, right below the kitchen, and looked nothing like the pictures. When I asked about switching, they said the photographed room was booked. I asked for another floor because we could hear the kitchen and people coming and going, but was told there was nothing available. I checked online and saw availability.

Friends recommended this hotel, and we're glad we took their advice. The grounds are beautiful, and the restaurant has vegetarian choices. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. 10/10
