Casa Landivar Hotel

We spent a lot of time in the cozy common area, sitting among the plants on the couches and at the tables, since our room felt small for three people. The location is the hotel’s biggest plus, close enough to walk to everything. Our room and bathroom were both small and dated, though they did give the bathroom a deep clean when we asked on the second day. The room Wi-Fi was almost nonexistent, so we went near the lobby to get online. The complimentary coffee was great.

We liked the rustic colonial feel of our room at Casa Antigua. It opened onto a semi-private patio with a waterfall, which was a lovely place to unwind after walking around the city. The location made exploring easy. We bought croissants and coffee around the corner and brought them back to eat in the courtyard.

We used Casa Antigua as a base for five nights of day trips and our volcano hike. The hotel was very clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms are pretty bare, and with no air-conditioning we had to leave the windows open, so conversations from adjoining rooms carried right in. The spring break high school groups were really loud because their adults didn’t manage them well, though that wasn’t the hotel’s fault. The water temperature kept changing, but with patience and turning it off and on, I could get a full hot shower. A great stay overall.

The staff were so accommodating when I needed to get into my room a couple of hours before check-in. They worked hard to get it ready so I could come in before 3 o’clock. The hotel is clean and welcoming, and the staff are wonderful. I’d highly recommend this beautiful hotel in Antigua. Thank you!
