Tzikin Jaay

The lake is right nearby, and being a little outside San Pedro worked perfectly for us. The owners are lovely, breakfast comes with the stay, and the rooms are fine. If you want somewhere cheap and simple, I'd definitely recommend staying here.

It was easy enough to walk a little if we wanted to go out partying, while the nights stayed peaceful. Our room had its own bathroom, and the simple accommodation felt well worth the price. The staff were very friendly and the included local breakfast was delicious. The shower was the one thing we didn't like. We'd read that showering too long could cut the electricity, so we were careful, and the water pressure was weak too. Also, Booking should make it clear that you pay at the property and need to pay in cash.

The breakfast was delicious, but I didn't feel welcome this time and won't be coming back. I first stayed here three years ago and decided to return this year, but the friendliness seemed to have disappeared. They told me to leave right away because it was checkout time. A little more kindness would've helped, especially since the hotel was half empty.

The garden is lovely and peaceful, and the free breakfasts were nice. There was a booking mix-up, but Felix handled it really well. He's a lovely, hard-working man. The room got hot at night, and there were no fans or mosquito nets, so we couldn't open the windows, though I still got bitten anyway. Apart from that, all good!
