The lake view was beautiful, and the staff made us feel welcome. I stayed here for a few days while visiting Santiago Atitlán and had several meals here as well.

The setting is gorgeous, right on the lake, with beautiful grounds and big, clean beds. The rooms could use coffee, though, and breakfast service is hard to fit into an early schedule. The restaurant doesn’t open for coffee or breakfast until 730, too late for an early tour or a shuttle departure. Bring your own coffee and snacks if you stay here.

The breakfast was really good and inexpensive, and the gardens are lush with breathtaking views of The 3 Giants. Having the water taxi dock right on the grounds makes crossing the lake convenient. But none of that made up for the sleepless nights. Roosters crowed all night, every night, and dogs kept barking. The bedding was hard, too. I’m writing this at 4:16am on the second night in a row, still listening to the roosters.

I came for a retreat, and it was a beautiful setting for powerful transformations. The hotel and restaurant sit on breathtaking Lake Atitlan. The food was delicious and made with so much love, and the hospitality was incredible, with everyone going above and beyond. I can’t wait to return!

The gardens are delightful, the food is delicious, and the people are warm, kind, and welcoming. It’s a beautiful sanctuary right by Lake Atitlan, with a short, convenient walk into Santiago village for the markets and shops. The view from the cathedral at the top is breathtaking. I recommend visiting.
