A nice place for a quiet weekend or to wind down at the end of a trip. The hotel can pick you up in Bartica and take you to the island. Getting there from Georgetown takes about an hour by public boat. You can explore the forest by borrowing kayaks, or join guided walks focused on birds and nature. They also run waterfall trips for $60 per person.

The scenery, flowers, plants, and clean grounds were lovely during my stopover from Kaiture Falls. We got a warm welcome and enjoyed the atmosphere and delicious food. The staff were very pleasant, and the pilot was polite and friendly. The flight back to Ogle was smooth.

I stopped here for lunch after visiting Kaieteur Falls in August 2019 and was really impressed. It’s a lovely island, with a manmade beach and a quiet spot to enjoy the calming river.
