Dash Living on Hollywood

We were left with no real solution when the room's air conditioning failed around midnight. It blew warm air in a sealed room that was over 30°C, and felt like an oven. The only option offered through the desk tablet was to move to a room with one large bed, with no compensation or other fix. There was no front desk employee available, just a security guard, and all contact had to be through the tablet in English, despite the hotel's claim to offer Cantonese and Mandarin service. Getting to the elevator meant carrying our luggage up about ten steps. The soundproofing was poor, so a noisy neighbor could easily ruin your sleep. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

Penny and Samuel helped me check in at the lounge, where I could also do laundry. The area has plenty to explore, and check-in was straightforward. I've extended my stay here several times and was able to keep my room each time, which made things easy.

We paid $1450 HKD a night and still had to chase basic things like towels. During our seven nights, towels were sometimes provided and sometimes missing. There was no room phone to reach the concierge, so we went downstairs and were told to wait ten minutes. After waiting in the room, nothing arrived, and my partner had to go back down and collect them. The following day, there were no towels again. Only one elevator was working. The room wasn't properly cleaned when we checked in: there was hair on the blankets and dust on the lamp and in the corners. We also saw black mold along the apartment edges and water dripping from the window. We felt unsafe and unwelcome, especially given the mold and poor cleaning. This was the worst hotel stay we've had. I hate leaving a one-star review, but people shouldn't be misled by the online marketing. See the photos.

There was no running water throughout our stay, so we couldn't even flush the toilet. Staff seemed indifferent and handed us a plastic bucket to use instead. The bed was awful and the room was tiny. I was promised a refund, but getting it has been as frustrating as the stay itself. I've spent hours every few days speaking with different agents, and none seem able to help. On site, the service was poor, and afterwards the hotel has done everything to avoid paying the refund it had promised. Staying at Dash Living was already frustrating and frankly disgusting. Don't stay here.
