Harbour Grand Hong Kong

We booked on a whim after a deal came up, and I was pleasantly surprised. The stay was amazing, and I’d definitely come back. Our room wasn’t quite ready when we arrived early, but staff immediately took our large bags and said we could wait in the lounge. Candy there was absolutely amazing and helped us with anything we needed throughout the trip. Service was impeccable from the moment we arrived.

Candy at the upper-floor reception took great care of me, and the guy at the Lobby Lounge was attentive and made me feel welcome. He cared about how my dining experience went. All the staff were respectful and genuinely nice. The hotel costs a little more than most, but I honestly thought it was worth it. I’ll stay here again next time I’m in Hong Kong.

I picked this hotel because so many reviews mentioned its views of HK. There are good views, but the room itself didn’t quite deliver. I got the 36th floor after asking for a higher room during the reservation process, but that request apparently wasn’t possible. A building next door to the west, not yet visible on Google Maps, blocked part of the view. From the lounge and roof, though, you can see pretty much all the bay, so access to those areas is a must if the view is your priority. We had a Club Premier, which seemed like the right choice, but room direction matters: some face east, west, or north. The only rooms with unobstructed views are suites facing directly toward the harbor, and they’re pricey. A Premier room on the 40th floor might work better if one is available. Choosing a Club room gets you an upper floor and access to the lounge, breakfast on the 41st floor, and the roof in the afternoon. The room was a good size and well equipped. The shower had crazy water pressure, and I loved the bathtub. Lounge breakfast was good, though for this price level it lacked the range of choices many people expect. Ingredients and service were good. Staff were friendly and efficient, as you’d expect from this kind of luxury hotel.

We were lucky to get a harbour-view room at Harbour Grand HK. It was spacious and comfortable, with room for three adults. The central location worked well, and staff were friendly and polite. The rooftop restaurant is worth experiencing for its spectacular daytime and evening views. There was a wide selection at the breakfast buffet too. We loved the stay and would come back.
