60 West Hotel

The rooms are spacious by Hong Kong standards, and the value for money is excellent. Staff are very friendly, and they even press the elevator button for you. I’d come back, but I’d want to know management had addressed a safety concern first: both smoke detectors in my room were covered, and I could smell smoke from other rooms, so I guess theirs were covered too.

There are lots of food choices nearby, and getting around is easy. The MTR Station is about a 5 minute walk away, so the location is very strategic. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in, and the receptionist was very kind!!

We had a great weekend at this 3-star hotel. We’d booked a Deluxe twin bed through Agoda, but when we arrived the staff gave us a free upgrade to an Executive Suite. Not sure why, but it was a lovely surprise. Check-in was quick and easy, and the staff member who helped us was friendly and professional. The suite was huge, 70-meter sq, and unbelievable for the price. There were two large bedrooms, one with a dressing room and robes, plus a kitchen with an oven and a large fridge. We also had a sitting area with a table, chairs and sofa, and a good choice of tea and coffee. A toothbrush set costs an extra $10 per piece. There’s a 24 hr store just 1 minute away for late-night snacks, with lots of restaurants and bars nearby too. I loved everything about the hotel and would recommend it.

The staff had a good attitude, and the location was awesome, close to the tram, bus and everything around. We stayed with family for 3 nights after moving from another hotel, but this place felt really different. We didn’t get a room upgrade, and having to leave a 500$ deposit for each room didn’t feel very welcoming to me. The hotel itself is small, including the reception. The room was quite big for Central, but old, with mold and dirty details in both the room and bathroom. I didn’t feel very clean there, and my sleep was bad all 3 nights. I had bad dreams and the bed sheet felt itchy. I just hoped to get through the night.
