Regal Oriental

The bathroom was the biggest problem. The sliding door had a large gap and was completely see-through, while the rest of the frosted glass was still very transparent. There was no shower door or curtain to contain the water, so the whole bathroom floor got wet unless you tucked yourself into a tiny corner of the stall. The bathroom fan couldn't be turned off and was noisy when trying to sleep. I was in room 209. It's an older building, kept relatively clean, and the room was quite small, barely wide enough for the two twin beds, which had no nightstand between them. The room faced an on-ramp, so there was road noise, as expected. The bus is conveniently 3-5 minutes away depending on direction, while the MTR is a longer walk. There was a large glass bottle of clean water in the room, with a hall water machine for refills, plus an electric kettle and two mugs, though only tea bags, no coffee. Room service could be selected by QR code, handy for requesting extra towels. They also provided okay-quality slippers.

The view was amazing, and both the service and location were great. The train station is a 10-minute walk away, and the bus interchange is only two minutes away. The staff were amazingly kind and helped me with every little issue on my trip. I'll definitely stay here again.

The location is convenient, with bus stops close by, but the hotel's hygiene was poor and the price isn't cheap, so I wouldn't recommend it. The building and rooms are old, deteriorated, and dirty, with outdated facilities. After check-in, I saw at least four brown-colored insects on the desk. The floor hadn't been cleaned, and visible hair and dirt were on it. Insects, hair, and unknown dirt were easy to find in the room. The room included breakfast buffet for two adults, but the additional five-year-old had to pay $60 per person per breakfast. It was a simple, small breakfast with few choices. There are many restaurants within a five-minute walk, so buying breakfast at the hotel felt unnecessary.

The rooms are a bit old and not updated, but they were clean and comfortable, and I thought they were relatively soundproof. There are a few good places to eat nearby, which worked well for us. Reception were polite but not very helpful. When I asked them to call a large taxi that could fit a wheelchair and large luggage, they just told us to try our luck at the taxi stand in front of the hotel.
