Tai O Heritage

The hotel has a lovely view, and the setting is scenic. It's about a 20-minute walk from the Tai O bus station, so bringing an umbrella is a good idea for both sun and rain. There's a restaurant, though it may sometimes be closed to the public for private events.

Set in Tai O village, the hotel gives you beautiful views and a peek at traditional fishing village life. The colonial-style building and decor have a lot of charm, and the staff are friendly and provide good service. A nice place to unwind while exploring the local culture.

I hadn't stayed overnight, but I stopped by for a quick tour and lunch at the Tai O Lookout. The place felt wonderfully peaceful, and I really liked the service and the food made with local ingredients. The Tai O Heritage Hotel, once the Old Tai O Police Station, is now a preserved heritage site and business at the far western end of Tai O. It's small enough to walk around in under half an hour, but the tour was worthwhile for the extra stories about its history. I'd happily return for afternoon tea at the Tai O Lookout.

I liked that students work as customer service staff, and the restaurant was very nice for both food and service. The room had less of a view than I expected, though the view from the corridor was fantastic. A dinner-and-breakfast package may be a better value than ordering them separately.
