People here are kind and gracious, and the service and hospitality are excellent. Posada San Lazaro is a peaceful, safe place to visit in Honduras.

We’ve been here many times and love how peaceful it is. The rustic cabins fit perfectly if you want to detox and get away, and the staff are kind and accommodating. The setting is unbelievable. My favorite part is sitting by the big fireplace, where good conversations just happen over a delicious cup of San Lazaro coffee.

I love sitting by the fire here. The Posada San Lazaro means a lot to me, and the mission it supports makes the place even more amazing. The views are stunning, the bedrooms are large, and the bathrooms are great. The restaurant food is hard to beat. Do yourself a favor and stay at the Posada San Lazaro. I love this place!

A lovely find a couple of kilometers off the main road. I liked the cute rustic cabins and the fine restaurant. It’s a little off the beaten path.

The dining hall is an open-air wood frame building, with electricity, lots of small tables and chairs, and a stocked fireplace at the far end with rocking chairs around it. There’s a TV mounted above the fireplace. We didn’t use it, but it works. The kitchen ladies did an amazing job looking after our cabins and making breakfast and dinner all week. Every meal was delicious and prepared with love, the coffee pots stayed full, and fresh single-source San Lazaro coffee is a treat. The cabins are very well built and maintained, with electricity and hot water. Mountain breezes keep the nights cool. I spent six days and nights here on a mission trip supporting Mission Lazarus. Watch out for scorpions. I saw one in our cabin on the first night, but they seem more timid than the ones I know from Georgia. The views are breathtaking, with surrounding mountains and valleys that really bring home the glory, power, and goodness of God. There’s also a beautiful tropical garden with exotic plants, flowers, and fruits, and leafcutter ants carrying bits of leaves around. The cozy, rustic shop is stocked with quality leather goods, clothing, other trinkets, and plenty of bags of San Lazaro coffee. The people of Mission Lazarus are wonderful and do their best to make your stay pleasant. They even have skilled doctors available for emergencies, which I found out the hard way when I got traveler’s sickness. I can’t recommend the work Mission Lazarus does with the communities it serves enough. Almost all the employees are locals who have been empowered to make a difference in their community. Staying here, or buying from their online store, is a worthwhile investment in breathing new life into San Marcos de Colón, Honduras, and the world.
