Helechos Hotel Boutique

There's a cute garden where you can relax, and breakfast is great. Food is an easy walk away, while downtown and the airport are just a cheap Uber ride. You can also walk to the bus stop for the airport shuttle.

We had to stay overnight in Comayagua at the last minute after our flight was cancelled, before a VERY early rebooked flight the next morning. The hotel is only 15 minutes from the airport, and the rate was excellent. It's secure and attractive, with a fine neighborhood and plenty of nearby restaurants. Our room was clean, comfortable thanks to the air conditioning, and well supplied, though pretty basic. We couldn't try breakfast because we had to be at the airport around 3am. The internet was slow, but given the other pluses and our short stay, we can forgive that. And then there was the neighboring rooster, who didn't seem to know sunrise wasn't at 1a.m. The staff were absolutely wonderful and welcoming, especially Ronny, who was a joy to deal with. The manager was just as welcoming, and I'm glad we met.

It's a lovely spot close to downtown, without the city's overwhelm, and only a 10-15 minute Uber ride from the airport. The common areas are well kept, there's 24/7 gate security, and reception helped me order pizza. Service was generally fast and friendly. My room had a great bed, good Wi-Fi, cold AC, and nice hot showers. I could hear another guest's entire Zoom call from the adjoining common area, though, so the windows and walls aren't exactly soundproof. Great stay for the money, and I'd definitely return.

At the last minute, we booked our rooms at Helechos for our first visit to Comayagua, after worrying about finding a good hotel. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful, and the rooms were spacious and kept clean. There's an overnight security guard and private parking across the street. Shops and lots of restaurants are within walking distance, and breakfast was the perfect start to our day.
