The family made me feel so welcome, and I loved hearing how Paramedics for Children developed. The place is even prettier than the photos, with a huge hostel room and a balcony leading to two tucked-away terraces. It had only been finished three months earlier, but the owner had clearly put thought into the handpicked design, so it already had plenty of character. Evenings in the common area were a lot of fun, playing live music with the owner and other guests. My transport plans were a mess, and they kept offering rides and helping me get around. The two dogs are absolute sweethearts. A lovely place to unwind and let your soul dangle.

It feels like a home away from home, with a kitchen, hot showers, and a big shared area with foosball, air hockey, and a huge TV. The scenery is beautiful, and it’s about a ten-minute walk to town. Such a lovely, helpful family runs the place. It’s definitely a luxury hostel.

We only stayed one night and were among the hostel’s first guests, but it was already a wonderful place. The staff were so friendly, gave us a ride into town to use the ATM, and showed us around. There are two lovely, friendly dogs, too. With the big TV and relaxed atmosphere, it’s an ideal spot to unwind. I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone passing through Copan.

The patio, with the Alamo in the background, would make a lovely wedding ceremony spot, and the hostel could hold around 26 people. It resembles the Alamo in TX and even has a real bell you can ring. Ruinas de Copan archeological site, the Paris of the Mayans, is nearby, along with hot springs. There’s room for everyone downstairs, with plenty of chairs and tables, comfy couches, a big TV, foosball, and air hockey. You’ll also find WiFi, a bar, purified water, a kitchenette, microwave, and fridge/freezer. Upstairs is a long balcony overlooking the fountain and flowers, with stairs at either end leading to the roof, where you can look at the stars. There’s also a dedicated space for yoga or similar exercise. The hostel has an open layout with 12 bunk beds and four showers and bathrooms, including two restrooms on the first floor. The continental breakfast comes with a hostel bed, though we paid to upgrade and had scrambled eggs, toast, fruit, coffee, orange juice, tortillas, beans, avocado, homemade bread, cheese, and plantains. The four bed-and-breakfast rooms have at least two beds each and their own bathroom. Other things available include a laundry room, though I’m not sure if guests can use it, a shared kitchen, a fruit basket, and glass jars and pitchers to fill with drinking water.
