The hammock on the patio was so relaxing that I actually fell asleep in it. The hotel itself is colorful, comfortable, and charming, and the staff were warm and helpful. Staying here while we visited the ruins was a real pleasure. I highly recommend it.

I asked whether the tortilla soup at Tradicion y Sabor Copaneco contained animal products, and the waitress said it didn't. It came with bacon bits. When I pointed that out, she said she'd replace it, but the bowl she brought back still had some bacon in it, so I said I no longer wanted it. At checkout, she insisted I had to pay because the soup had already been prepared. I asked to speak with a supervisor or the owner, but she said nobody was available. The worst restaurant experience I've ever had.

The staff were very kind and helpful, and the ruins are within walking distance. Camino Maya is a lovely place to stay, right in the center of Copan.

The hotel isn't the nicest in town, and nearby traffic gets loud at night. Its location near the main plaza is convenient, though.

The pool is five blocks away, and parking is two blocks away. There's no pool on site. And the flat-screen TV? Well, only its front is flat.
