The staff were friendly and helpful, and the WiFi worked okay. There's also a cafeteria on site serving freshly made meals at affordable prices. We paid $12 for a clean room, though it had poor ventilation and was hard to get dry. The hotel is very reasonably priced and sits across from the local bus terminal. It seemed fairly safe, with a locked entrance and barbed wire on the walls.
We picked it because it's close to the bus station, and the location is decent. At 400L a night, it's probably the cheapest hotel you can find in Ceiba. The pool was clean, with a small space around it that would be nice on a hot day. I wouldn't want to spend much time in the room, though, since it had only the strict minimum.
The room was clean and basic, and the pool was kept up well. It works well for families or for catching a bus in the morning, or arriving in the evening. It's not near the central shopping area, but tipico restaurants and a market are close. Taxis are cheap and can take you anywhere.
Really, US$ 12 gets you a single room with a private toilet and shower, plus a pool and restaurant. The supermarket is right next door, and the bus terminal is a few hundred meters away. Wi-Fi was good, and the staff were friendly, helpful, and answered all my questions. This is a really good deal! Hot water for the shower would make it perfect.
The room was pretty average, but La Ceiba in general is good for a one-night stop. The restaurant dinner was delicious, especially the fresh handmade tortillas and fried chicken. It's in a great spot by the bus, market, and big supermarket.
