Bananarama Dive & Beach Resort

We had a relaxing, fantastic day, and the snorkeling was excellent. We bought a day pass while on our carnival celebration cruise, and it gave us access to the resort, beach chairs and an umbrella, plus transportation to and from the port. The price for resort access was reasonable. There’s a pizza place, a bar, and a couple of smaller restaurants up the hill. We didn’t stay overnight, so I can’t comment on the rooms, but I’d recommend getting a day pass.

We spent the day here while our cruise ship was in port, using the loungers and facilities rather than booking a room. The location was great, and there’s a really good bar on site. Security kept an eye on the loungers. Snorkeling straight from the beach was amazing, with so many fish.

The location was the best part of our stay. The food was just okay and nothing special. Some waitresses were very kind, but a few bartenders seemed rude and inattentive. We had to ask several times to place an order, and they looked annoyed when we tried. Our room was dirty, and the bathroom didn’t seem properly cleaned. It also felt like there was little supervision, with staff left to run things on their own.

The bar was good, and the beach location was great. Bananarama set aside a private area with chairs and umbrellas for us, which was exactly what we wanted for our day ashore in Roatan. Pickup from the port went smoothly, but the return got hectic with everyone heading back to their ships, and traffic had us worried. We still made it aboard with 30 minutes to spare, though I’d strongly suggest leaving the beach early. The whole day was a 10/10, and the kids had a great time.
