Hyatt Place Tegucigalpa

Sandra was amazing with us. She handled the housekeeping and even went out of her way to organize the mess our kids made. The service, food, and cleanliness were all great, and the location was great too. By far, one of my best experiences in Central America.

Three of my four nights had music blasting so loudly that the water in a bottle on my desk was vibrating. On night 1, after a long day of travel, I was kept awake past 11:30 on a weeknight. On day 2, the music started at 4 pm and went until one am. I could hear it through earplugs and noise canceling headphones. The staff don’t care that they’re keeping people awake, and this clearly happens often. If you want a quiet hotel where you can sleep, keep looking. This was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had, and I don’t recommend it.

We spent about 20 days at the Hyatt in Tegucigalpa on a personal trip to Honduras. We chose it because it’s in a secured neighborhood, right down the street from the USA embassy. Room service was wonderful, and Ms. Miriam was the greatest. She kept our room clean and always offered us bottled water. The best part was the Terraza Pool. My daughter loved it, and the adults’ beverages were delicious. The computer area came in handy when we needed to print documents. Free breakfast was a nice perk, but the food was cold most of the time, and there are no microwaves, not even in the rooms. The mini fridge was useful for fruit and drinks. I didn’t want to overpay for restaurant meals every day, and asking for a warm tortilla made me feel like a bother. When we asked a waiter where to find food nearby, he said, “I’m sorry I can’t help you!” and took the menu out of my hand. A Google search showed us a mall and food court right across the street, where the food was delicious and didn’t break the bank. We had a great stay overall and would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a safe place.

Our family had an amazing time. The hotel is in a great location, with amazing amenities, and the rooftop pool and bar were laid out perfectly. The room was impeccably clean, and housekeeping and reception were amazing too. Very, very good hotel.
