La Ensenada Beach Resort - All Inclusive

The decent food and a few included activities, snorkeling, kayaking, and tubing, were among the few bright spots. The receptionist who handled check-in and check-out was very friendly too. Still, the stay was a letdown for what it cost. The website photos gave a misleading impression, since the property felt old and run down. There was a strong mildew smell on the first floor, and our room was missing basic toiletries. It had a coffee maker but no coffee or cups. The TV was tiny and outdated, with basic cable, and its remote didn't work. We didn't come to watch television, but at this price I expected a smart TV. The pool water looked dirty and cloudy, and the drinks were awful, far too sweet. I didn't expect much from an all-inclusive, but even with low expectations it disappointed. We stayed one night to give it a try and won't return at this price. Indura beach and golf resort nearby is much better for half the cost, with lovely rooms and outdoor areas. Its food isn't great either, but I'd still choose it over this stay.

The children in our large group had a great time at the beach, pools, and play areas. The food had both good quality and variety, and the staff were a real highlight, helpful, attentive, and caring whenever my group or I needed anything. It's a good place for family or friends. I organized a trip with more than 30 people and got help from booking right through departure. The rooms are roomy and comfortable. My husband and I paid extra to try the new Sunset Cabins, and I thought it was worth it. Those rooms have their own beach, bar, and other amenities just for cabin guests.

The staff were the worst, and everything was made ridiculous and complicated. They insisted we needed our kids' birth certificates on hand for them to stay with us. What a bunch of BS!

The place is beautiful and peaceful, with a nice stretch of beach right beside the pool. Just keep an eye out for jellyfish. Service wasn't anything special, the staff didn't seem especially happy or passionate.
