I think it was 2001 when we first came, and the hotel was still being finished. We were among its very first guests. We’ve returned a few times since, and it’s lovely to see the current owner still taking such good care of the place. The previous owner had a son, I think his name was Antonio. Here’s a photo of us from 2001.

Our two-year-old got crayons and a coloring page from the very polite waiter, and later even received a little gift for being so calm and sweet. I think it was a Hanuta biscuit. We had sea bream and chicken for dinner, and the food was fantastic, hard to put into words. I’d recommend this restaurant and will definitely come back.

We waited a long time for the food, and the portions felt tiny for the prices: pasta was 11€, and rump steak was 20€ (155hrk). The steak was chewy, though still okay, and the food overall was fine. Our waiter was nice, if a little uptight. I wouldn't return, since you can get better food at the same or lower prices.

Mare restaurant at Villa Kristina deserves more attention. The food was very good, the prices were good, and both the setting and service were nice. If you're after good food without a queue in central Baska Voda, give Mare Restaurant a try. Highly recommended, and the food alone deserves a queue outside!

The Peka was one of the best meals I've ever had. You need to order it five hours ahead, but it's worth it, and in my opinion it's way too cheap. Give it a try!
