This is a guesthouse in the Korean sense, in an entire row house. The owner lives separately, and it may seem a little shabby if you're used to modern hotels. The climb up the many stairs is often mentioned in reviews, but in Dubrovnik I'd call that a luxury, since places with decent views all involve a steep climb. From here you get a prime view of Dubrovnik's Citadel and the sea. It takes about 10 minutes for adults to walk to the Citadel, or 15 for children or women. Places closer in may have parts of the Citadel blocked by the terrain. Also, the owner is incredibly handsome, kind, and nice.

I made the booking more than a month ahead, but they canceled it without warning less than two weeks before check-in, saying it was “unpaid.” The website clearly said payment would be in cash when we arrived. What an untrustworthy business!
