Burum Apartments

Super place.

The view is really beautiful, and the apartment is nice, though small. It comes with a washing machine, hairdryer, clothes horse, smart TV, Wi-Fi, dishes and dish soap. We found only hand soap, though, and no other soaps. The tablecloths were brought to us after three days, as described. The place is around ten minutes from Lapad Street and 15-16 minutes from the port of Gruz. Line 6 gets you to the old town, and line 7 links to the bus station. There are steps, but some quicker alternative routes too. We were given an attic that wasn't identified as such on Booking. In Italy, an attic is specified, and its limitations usually mean a lower price. My boyfriend is blind and found it difficult. She spoke little Italian. What she did manage to explain was that if we needed help, we could ask the people in the apartment across from us, which was rented to other Italians. I liked her less after that comment, and we didn't see her again until the sixth day. Her son was kind. On checkout, a girl came by and agreed to give us another 10-15 minutes, but kept going up and down the stairs to check whether we'd left. She was very punctual for checkout, but she hadn't been there for check-in after our delayed flight pushed our arrival back. I'm not sure I'd return.

I spent half an hour looking for the right door, even though the taxi had dropped me at the right street number and I had the address. The guesthouse has no street signage, and the neighbors ended up calling Brigita. Once inside, I was upgraded to a small but comfortable, well-arranged apartment because the guesthouse was full. It’s close to the beach and public transport to the Old Town, though be ready for 313 steps up to the guesthouse. At least I got a decent cardio workout. Dubrovnik has become an expensive place for tourists, with overpriced hotels, so a guesthouse is a less painful way to visit this beautiful city. Guesthouse Brigita fits that bill.

The bed was comfortable, there’s private parking, and the place is spacious and well kept. The city center isn’t far away.
