Cinema View House

The location was right in the middle of everything, and we liked the cleanliness, comfortable mattress, views, and courtyard. But there were no shampoos or washcloths, and repairs were needed for things like the toilet seat and lights. It felt like a corporate-owned place that wasn't being cared for, rather than an actual Air BnB run by a person. I booked from the photos but ended up in a lesser room, one whose pictures I hadn't even seen, and I wouldn't have chosen it. I didn't hate the stay, but it had less than a hotel would offer and no warmth or personality. I wouldn't return.

The apartment was very clean, and the linen and towels smelled so good. We loved seeing the outdoor cinema below from our window. The stairs were manageable, though next time I'd bring the smallest case I could.

Opening the shutters each morning to breakfast over the city, or sitting with a glass of wine as the sun set, was the highlight of my holiday. The view over the old town and city walls was spectacular, with the open air cinema too. We watched a few films for free. We had their smallest room, so it felt cramped at times, but it was clean and had everything we needed. Air con worked great, which matters to me as a Scot or I'll simply dissolve. The owner was lovely and checked we were looked after. It's on the quieter side of old town while still central. Finding it was a little hard, but the owner's directions were excellent.

We needed somewhere for one night after getting the dates wrong on our other accommodation booking, and ended up in the first unit. It was clean and looked newly renovated, with a great view of the open air cinema next door. The owner welcomed us warmly. The building is on a quieter side of Old Town, and there are fewer steps to climb than at places on the north side.
