The view from up there was wonderful, especially at sunset. The room was tiny and could use some TLC, though, and while it’s among the cheapest options in the city, I think I’d pay a little more to stay lower down the hill. The welcome when we arrived wasn’t great. The husband was much friendlier and spoke more English.

We were on a budget road trip across the country, so this hilltop hostel overlooking old town Dubrovnik worked for us. You can walk into town from there. The owner greeted us warmly, offered us a drink and biscuits while checking us in, and made us feel settled with that personal touch. Shared facilities and rather dated room decor, but there’s what you need, including a fully equipped shared kitchen. The place felt friendly and safe.

We enjoyed our stay, especially the lovely sunset from the balcony and the great view from the room. The staff were caring and helpful, there’s air conditioning, and you can walk to the Old Town and town center. A little more cleanliness would help, and the old equipment in the room and bathroom needs repair and updating. Parking is tight and awkward to maneuver in. Thanks for having us.

I’m changing my earlier review because we had a great time here. The owner picked us up from the port for free, and the family running this cozy big house were incredibly kind and ready to help with anything. It felt like staying with family. Just give your legs some stair practice before coming to Dubrovnik.
