Guesthouse Peter

The little kitchen was handy for keeping our food, and the bed was comfortable. Everything was very clean. We were also just a 30-second walk from the old town, which was fantastic. Peter made us feel welcome and shared plenty of local knowledge. We had a great stay and would recommend it to friends and family. We’d happily come back.

The photos on Booking gave a misleading impression. We paid €42 a night for a room that was only 8sqm, though we had booked one listed as 42sqm. It was noisy, badly run-down, and smelled strongly of cigarettes. The whole experience with the hotel and host was very bad. I’d look for a more reliable provider.

The location worked really well, with the Old Town gates only minutes away and transit and day trip pickup spots close by. There were great places to eat nearby too. We arrived a bit late, but after we let the host know, he had the room ready so we could head straight out. He was easy to reach and brought us extra towels when we asked. We'd book here again.

I felt as if I was being scammed all day, and eventually cut my Croatia trip short. I never got the room I had booked. The host cancelled my booking without telling me, then blamed me for it. Stay away. The day before check-in, I called to ask how it would work because Booking.com had no instructions. The listing was called deluxe rooms with terrace view. He got angry and said I was wasting his time. On check-in day he arrived almost 30 minutes late while I waited outside the apartment building. Then he tried to take me to a different building because, he said, my room was still occupied. That apartment was called B&B BUZA, which other reviewers had already said had bed bugs and other nasty things. I refused and asked for the room I reserved. He wouldn't give it to me then, saying I could have it at 20:00 and that I was giving him problems. I went back at 20:00, but he didn't show up. When I messaged to ask where he was, he said he'd cancelled my booking because I was being a "problem". He eventually came to the apartment complex but wouldn't even speak to me. I have plenty more to say about him, but it would get this review deleted.
