The best parts were the location, right in the middle of the Old Town, and the kind service. The older woman was especially lovely, and the older man was nice too. But the room was awful: the air conditioner didn't work, it reached 30°C, and sleeping was really difficult. Overall, a bad stay. I wouldn't book this hotel in Dubrovnik.

We stayed in room no. 1 at Hamlet Bed and Breakfast for two nights, 20 and 21 September 2025. Its location was good, but the hygiene was deplorable. The toilet was dirty and stained, the carpet smelled musty, and we killed two cockroaches in the middle of the night. With no night reception, we dealt with it ourselves: we borrowed insecticide from near the reception counter, sprayed the room, then had to wait outside for about 20 minutes. While searching and spraying, we checked under the bed and found a lot of dirt. There was also a large hole in the bathroom ceiling by the exhaust fan, which we think may be how the cockroaches got in. We showed photos to the man at reception the next morning. He said, “oh, I don’t know. I will tell the owner,” and we heard nothing more. There was no investigation, explanation, or reassurance. We weren't looking for an apology, but after such a disgusting and frightening experience, we expected a more suitable response. Cockroaches can carry bacteria and other pathogens; staff could at least have said they would look into it or reassured us they'd do better. We don't recommend this hotel.

The room was run-down and filthy, the smell unbearable, and I found bed bugs. It looked nothing like the website photos, which felt like outright lies. The place seemed nowhere near its supposed 4-star rating, and the staff were indifferent and incompetent when faced with complaints. This was the worst scam I’ve ever encountered, even allowing for some generosity. The whole experience was beyond imagination. If filth and a nightmare stay sound good to you, go ahead; otherwise, run.

Sleeping in the lobby because the owner double booked, broken AC in several rooms, and the worst customer service. Anyone in the hotel could access your room key, too, and there were late-night cockroach visitors. I honestly can't figure out how this place is still in business.
