House Kirigin

We spent a short but wonderful time here, and I’d happily return on our next trip to Dubrovnik. The apartment was spotless, thoughtfully equipped with toiletries and kitchen basics for meals and drinks, and decorated in a traditional Croatian townhouse style that gives it a lovely local feel. Our terrace had plenty of greenery and shade, a nice place to rest after sightseeing. One bedroom has air conditioning; the other has a large standing fan. The view takes in Lokrum Island, the Adriatic Sea, and the Old Town. The neighborhood is peaceful, with little tourist traffic apart from beachgoers heading to Sveti Jakov. Kate was excellent to communicate with. She got in touch before we arrived, greeted us warmly with a welcome drink, showed us around, and shared local tips while answering all our questions. She quietly checked that we were comfortable during the stay, and we really felt at home. A few useful details: it’s a calm 20-minute walk to the Old Town. Studenac grocery store and the bus stop for the Old Town and city center are both about 10 minutes away in that direction. Divovici Beach is 5-10 minutes away down steep stairs to a rocky swimming spot. Sveti Jakov Beach is about 10 minutes away and also involves steep stairs. Water shoes are handy because of the stones, though you can get into the water carefully without them. Driving takes a little longer because of the one-way streets. Bukovca Street leads right to the apartment, but it’s narrow enough that only one car can pass in some places. Thanks, Kate, for a lovely stay.
