San Rocco Palace

We had a beautiful room in the heart of the city, and the breakfast in bed was tasty. The service was great too. Before our flight, we lost our keys, and the staff went out of their way to find them so we could make the flight. We’d absolutely stay again.

The small balcony has an amazing view, one of the best in town, and is a lovely spot for breakfast or an evening drink. The apartment is a decent size with decent facilities. Its location in the heart of Dubrovnik Old Town is exceptional, though be ready for some walking and stairs. We stayed off season and got a good price. Excellent place to stay.

The property is right in the old town and has a lot of atmosphere. If you’re driving, there’s no parking inside the old town, so expect to pay for parking and walk about 10 minutes. The room looked impressive when we arrived, but a few little things let the stay down. There was only enough hot water for one of us to shower, just one coffee sachet, and the shower gel and shampoo were watery. Those budget choices felt like a false saving and took away from the experience. We mentioned it to reception, and the man was apologetic. Since we were there for only one night, we didn’t give them time to fix it, but first impressions count.

We couldn’t have been happier with the suite, the location, or the whole stay at San Rocco. Our deluxe suite had the best balcony view, where we had breakfast each day and watched the sunset after exploring. The room was well appointed, breakfast was delicious and arrived right on schedule, and the staff were easy to reach and very helpful. The AC was a must in the summer heat. I wish I could give it a sixth star, 10/10 recommend!
