The City Place

There’s a grocery store nearby, and the little kitchen is handy if you want to make your own meals. What really made the stay for me, though, was Sasha. He works long hours keeping the place going, but still uses his short breaks to spend time with guests. He’s a pleasure to be around, and when people are interested, he’ll invite them to join him in town during the day or evening and help them feel like locals. I arrived right at the start of the season, so that may be harder when the hostel is full. I only wish he had more time for guests. I’d stay nowhere else in town, and I’ll be back.

Really good hostel, and the volunteers were so nice!

The common spaces are cramped, including the areas used by the family who runs the hostel. The bedrooms are tiny too, and four rooms share just two very small bathrooms. Those bathrooms double as a laundry room, with clothes left lying around everywhere.

Finding this place felt like a dream. I had five fantastic days here, and the owners, especially the mother and son, made me feel at home straight away. They have that extended-family feeling and put joy, celebration, and everyone's well-being first. It’s clean and has all the comforts you’d want in a hostel, right in the center of Dubrovnik’s Old Town. I’ve left a piece of my heart here and will definitely come back. A wonderful place for young people, or anyone older with a youthful spirit. 100% recommended! 💯 A note on finding it: with your back to the clock, take the second narrow street on the right.
