Villa Antea Apartments

We'd happily come back, or send family here. The promenade and a local supermarket are within walking distance, and getting to the old city is easy: a taxi costs €5-11, or the number 6 bus is €2.50. The place was good value, the cleaners were diligent, and it was decent for wheelchairs. The host was quick to respond, accommodating and helpful.

We had a great time at Villa Antea in October. The cleaning staff were especially lovely and went out of their way to help. Shops and restaurants are an easy walk away, and the bus stop just down the road has service to the old city and connections to places like Cavtat. There are also some good walking and running routes around the peninsula.

The owner gave us good ideas for things to do, and there's a boat tour he runs that I really enjoyed. Ask him about it. The rooms and location were okay, while the service was quite good.

The views from the villa are beautiful, the terrace is very large, and the pool is great. The apartments feel modern, and the women who change the towels are very friendly. Do keep in mind that you'll need a bus or taxi to get to the old town. We were travelling as a group and booked well ahead, but our rooms ended up far apart. There was only one key for a room even though we were four people, which was awkward. Storage was very limited, with suitcases in the way, and there's just one bedroom; the other sleeping space is a sofa bed in the living room. There's no café, drinks machine or anything like that. The reception was empty for longer than the sign indicated, so it was hard to find staff when we needed something. We couldn't get simple extras like another towel, despite the ones supplied being very small, or shower gel. Nothing was cleaned during our week-long stay. The bathroom in particular felt unsanitary, and I would have preferred an optional cleaning service, even at extra cost. After full days out, there's not much time to clean.
