Villa Boro

The big drawback for me was getting there: the villa is at the top of a steep hill, then there are lots of stairs to reach the apartment. I have very limited mobility, and I hadn’t seen this mentioned in the description. Otherwise, our one-bedroom apartment was lovely, clean, and nicely decorated, with great views over Lapad beach. The pool and seating area were fantastic, and towels were provided. The owners were very helpful, and we enjoyed the welcome beer and wine. Without the hill and stairs, it would be five stars.

The first day was awful because the hostess shouted at us and insulted us. We reported a boiler leak five minutes after reaching our room, after we’d already been put in the wrong room once. She came in screaming that we’d caused it and tampered with the boiler, insulted my accent, and left us frightened and upset. We kept out of her way for the rest of the week, and things were pleasant without her. Rudest host I’ve ever had. The location is beautiful and the pool is nice. Our room was tiny, like a large cupboard, though I understand bigger, better rooms cost more. WiFi was unreliable, but towels were provided and the cleaner came as often as we wanted.

A friendly host, daily towel changes, and regular room cleaning made this a nice little weekend break. The pool is cute and there are comfortable sunbeds. It’s a small place, so it feels quite exclusive. Our bedsheet could have been cleaner, though, and the villa is high up the hill, making the beach a trek.

The hosts were lovely, and the place was clean, tidy, and furnished with everything we needed. It’s easy to walk to either a bus or the beach, too. A fantastic Dubrovnik stay, thanks!
