Lana made our stay feel special from the moment we arrived. She welcomed us, had groceries ready, showed us around, and shared lots of useful suggestions. Each morning she greeted us and kept everything immaculate. The private chef dinner on the terrace overlooking the sea was another highlight, and Mrs. Romana arranged our airport and ferry transfers. We also had porter service on arrival, and the whole team’s care will be hard to match. We spent four nights and five days at Villa Orti with five women on a girls’ trip, starting our Croatia visit in Dubrovnik. The villa was beautiful, the grounds were immaculate, and the location worked perfectly. We could take the upper walking road behind the property into the walled old town, which was breathtaking. The main house was plenty for our group, though there are other accommodations on the property for larger parties. It was nicely updated, with comfortable beds, lovely linens, and great ensuite bathrooms. We had such a wonderful time in Croatia and would love to bring my family back someday soon. We also met so many kind people and had beautiful experiences around the country.

The villa’s quiet setting made it easy to unwind, even though the old town is just minutes away. We loved the lunch views from the indoor and outdoor dining tables, and the birdsong and occasional sight of the villa’s tortoises were lovely touches. There’s plenty to keep a group busy too, with the pool, sauna, bowling green and table tennis room. After long walks around Dubrovnik, the sauna was especially welcome. Lana and Ann were so attentive, and the daily maid service kept the large villa and grounds spotless. The bedrooms felt even bigger than expected, and we loved the high ceilings with their detailed paintings. It was easy to walk to the old town or a nearby beach, grab pastries for breakfast, and reach supermarkets about 10 minutes away on foot. We also started each day swimming in the local cove, where the water was beautifully clear. Villa Orti was a relaxed, stress-free base for exploring without a car. We’d happily recommend it.

Our flight to Dubrovnik was cancelled, but the Villa Orti team quickly arranged a last-minute transfer from Split, about three hours away. We arrived at 3am and were greeted with smiles and such a warm welcome. The next morning Lana had a huge breakfast waiting and looked after us throughout the week. The villa sits high enough for fantastic views, and the old town is only a short walk away. The team was always ready to help with arrangements, and nothing seemed like a problem. We loved our week there and can’t wait to return to Croatia.

The dinner prepared by a chef was the standout for us, delicious and served on the big terrace beneath a grape covered trellis. That memory will stay with us. We spent a week in July at Villa Orti with our extended family, and the accommodation worked well, including the extra beds for the kids. Staff were helpful, all the amenities worked, and shops, restaurants and beaches were nearby. A special gem in Dubrovnik.
