An employee came into my room without permission while I was changing, in the middle of the evening. That's an inexcusable breach of privacy. Management said they were “to freshen up the room,” even though it had been cleaned hours earlier. I've never experienced anything like it. For over €500 a night, this is outrageous. The one spa jacuzzi hasn't worked for more than a week in high season, with staff saying a part is missing. The rooms feel like they're from the last century, in a bad way. There's no coffee or tea kettle, and no private hotel beach, just a concrete deck. The curtains don't cover the windows, so expect to be awake by 5:45 if the constant noises, possibly from the old construction, don't keep you up first. Niko at reception had a terrible attitude and was rude and dismissive, making sure we didn't feel welcome. Better to stay nearby at one of the many proper 5-star competitors. Hide your valuables, and good luck, you'll need it.

We were there in autumn, so it might get crowded in summer. The rooms were decent, and helpful staff were on hand. Since this is an annexe to Grand Villa Argentina hotel, I think you can use all its facilities. That includes a wonderful restaurant terrace for breakfast and evening cocktails, with views of the old city and the Med, plus a pool and sunbathing by the water.

It's a smart-value option for people who are fit. The rooms are comfortable and more than adequate, since you'll probably spend little time in them. As an annexe to hotel argentina, it gives you the same benefits at a considerably lower price.

The mattress was lumpy enough that I wasn’t impressed at first. The hotel won me over with its other amenities, the restaurant’s fantastic food, its own beach, and how close it is to the Old Town. Four stars from me, though they really should replace those mattresses.

The pool staff were especially friendly and professional, and the views are breathtaking. There are spacious terraces, a private pool, and a spot for swimming in the sea. With the Old Town so close, I never wanted to leave ;)
